About Niels Oeltjen

Also known as Nails, he was born in Hanover, Germany, but grew up in Tasmania. His experience as a street artist gave him an interest in typographic design, and he has recently worked at the studio Letterbox, creating typefaces such as ‘Bisque’ and ‘Kevlar Slab.’ He believes in the power of natural fruit juice. He once cracked his skull, but feels that this was not as painful as getting a sunburnt on his feet. He is inspired by animals, science, typography, ceramics and the universe. Past clients include Tourism Victoria and Tokion Magazine.
