Beck Wheeler

About Beck Wheeler

Originally from Hamburg in Germany, Beck Wheeler came to Australia via New Zealand in 2000, and has since learned to be wary of mangrove swamps disguised as beaches. Working mostly with pen and ink, she is inspired by public transport, reggae, Scrabble and crockery, and prefers juice to cordial. She has exhibited work in the US, Canada, Spain and Australia, and has used her pen and ink for the benefit of Penguin Books, Cornerstine Promotions, MC Saatchi, Buro North, News Magazines, Chik Magazine, and Feet Theatre. She has recently finished writing and illustrating her first childrens’ book, How Absurd! published by Lothian Books in Australia, and is currently working with Melbourne writer Sean Whelan to produce an illustrated book of short stories.
