My name is Alice Edy. I make drawings while people talk.

As a Graphic Recorder, I’m most known for my use of lettering, colourful imagery, and my vast collection of Copic Markers.

I’m very proud to be one of the founding members of Graphic Recorders Australia. Professional development is vital, and I’m lucky enough to have some very talented friends and mentors in the GR industry; we regularly meet up to give each other feedback, so that we all continue to grow both creatively and professionally.

What interests me most about drawing in front of large groups of people is the performative aspect of live drawing. People really connect with the drawings in such a powerful way because there is something magical about watching an image appear in real-time. The process is challenging because there are no ‘second takes’ or changes; it’s in ink, so it is what it is … you have to be bold and trust your gut.
